This Alameda kitchen is our favorite kind of project: full of character and built by hand. Warm plaster walls, a patterned tile alcove framing the range, and a built in banquette that turns the corner into the heart of the room.
A skylight and a door to the deck flood it with light. Brass, oiled wood, and stone keep it warm. Nothing here came out of a catalog.
